Ships call at Koper for a day. This is the car that meets you at the terminal, takes you wherever you have decided to go, and has you back at the gangway before it sails.
Back before the ship sails
The sailing time goes into the booking, and the day is planned backwards from it with an hour of slack. If traffic eats that hour, the last stop goes rather than the schedule. Missing the ship is the one thing a day ashore cannot get wrong, so it is the fixed point everything else moves around.

A day from Koper costs more than the same day from Ljubljana for one reason: the car drives 210 km to reach the port and get home again with nobody in it. Half of that empty distance is in the price, not all of it.

Ljubljana and Lake Bled
Full day, about 9 hours
The old town on foot and the funicular up to the castle, then Bled: the lake, the cream cake, and a pletna boat to the island if the hour is there.
Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle
Full day, about 7 hours
The underground train and the guided walk take an hour and a half. Predjama, built into the mouth of a cliff, is ten minutes further on.
Piran, Portorož and the Sečovlje salt pans
Half day, about 5 hours
Venetian Piran on foot, the promenade at Portorož, and the pans where sea salt is still raked by hand. All within 30 km of the ship.
Lipica stud farm and the Škocjan Caves
Half day, about 5 hours
The Lipizzaners where the breed began, and a UNESCO canyon roaring underground. Both are closer to the port than Ljubljana is.

Entry tickets to the cave, the castle or the boat to the island are paid on the spot. When we confirm the day we say which ones are worth booking ahead.
Questions people ask
What if the ship berths late?
We follow the arrival and wait at the terminal. A late berthing costs nothing extra. What shortens is the far end of the itinerary, never the price.
What if the day runs long?
It does not, because the return is planned for an hour before all aboard. If that hour disappears into traffic, we drop the last stop and tell you as it happens rather than at the port.
Where do we meet?
At the exit of the Koper passenger terminal, with a board carrying your name. If your ship tenders instead of berthing, we meet at the tender pier.
Can we change the plan during the day?
Yes, as long as it fits the hours and kilometres of the package. Swapping Bled for the coast at ten in the morning is no trouble; adding three hours is a different price and we will say so before we drive it.
Disembarking for good? A run from the port to Ljubljana airport, Trieste, Venice or Zagreb is an ordinary transfer at the ordinary price.
